New name will enable the brand to better cover food stories throughout the state

Edible Santa Fe, a multimedia company celebrating local food culture, has announced their rebrand to edible New Mexico. This rebrand reinforces edible’s commitment to telling the stories of local food throughout New Mexico, while expanding its scope and market.

Since 2006, edible has contributed to and changed the conversation around local food through their bi-monthly magazine, events, and digital platforms. Stephanie Cameron, owner of edible New Mexico, said, “As storytellers, we have always represented greater New Mexico because so much food production happens in our rural communities. The Santa Fe trademark was always meant to represent a brand recognized outside of New Mexico, but was never meant to restrict our focus to a specific location. Our new name will eliminate confusion in our marketplace over what territory we cover, as well as increase visibility of our brand throughout the state, creating a larger market for our clients.”

Locally-owned and operated, edible New Mexico is part of Edible Communities, a network of more than ninety independently-owned, regionally-focused magazines and websites across the United States and Canada. Edible Communities is the largest media organization devoted to telling the stories and sustaining the efforts of the farmers, chefs, food artisans, fishers, vintners, and home cooks who feed us. Edible Communities’ readers are identified as consumers who recognize and support local businesses—providing advertisers with an extremely valuable audience.

“We are a social enterprise,” said Cameron. “Our mission is multifaceted: to support our local economy; to foster camaraderie and celebrate our vibrant regional cultures; and to educate and entertain. We believe understanding where our food comes from empowers all of us to make informed decisions about what we eat, what we stand for, and how to better support our communities.”

Now that they have officially expanded statewide, the team at edible New Mexico says they are looking forward to uncovering many more stories focused on the people, businesses, issues, and ingredients that make New Mexico’s food shed one of the most diverse and interesting in the nation.
