It’s that time of year when we invite chefs to throw their spatulas in the ring and throw down to become the reigning champs. Thanks to our attendees and their iron stomachs, the Green Chile Cheeseburger Smackdown has become one of New Mexico’s favorite annual foodie events—and we sell out every year!

Your votes will determine the “People’s Choice Award” winner. A panel of foodie celebrities will judge the ultimate “Reigning Chomp” Winner. Sorry for the meat sweats, but we know you’ll want to try every burger before casting your votes. Get more details at ediblesmackdown.com.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT for 2024 VIPs: Burger Valet is only available during the first hour of the event (12:30–1:30 p.m.). Table sections will be spread out throughout the outdoor event space (vs. clumped together in a smaller roped section) and designated for VIPs on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be enough seating for all VIPs at communal tables, and once you have claimed your spot, you can stay as long as you want for the duration of the event as long as someone in your party is seated at the table. 

General Admission Tickets will be sold with timed entry. This enables us to produce a more enjoyable event for all of our attendees. Although your ticket will permit you to enter at a certain time, you can stay as long as you want. Most attendees can complete their tastings in 1.5–2 hours. The event begins at 12:30 pm if you opt in for VIP tickets. Timed entry for general admission is at 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm.

GENERAL ADMISSION – ADULT (13YRS+) $35

Ticket price includes a tasting of each of the seven finalists’ green chile cheeseburgers, a ballot to cast your vote to be counted toward the “People’s Choice Award,” and a souvenir glass. (NO refunds: tickets ARE transferable. Anyone under 21 years of age must be accompanied by someone 21+)

GENERAL ADMISSION – CHILD (3-12YRS) $10

Ticket price includes a tasting of each of the seven finalists’ green chile cheeseburgers. Child will arrive during the same time slot designated on the accompanying adult’s ticket. (NO refunds; tickets ARE transferable. Anyone under 21 years of age must be accompanied by someone 21+)

VIP ADMISSION $65

Limited to 150 attendees – Includes VIP Early Access Admission to the Smackdown at 12:30 pm with a special VIP section and a burger valet who will bring you your burger samples for the first hour of the event (vs. you having to stand in line) so you can sit back and relax and focus on determining the best burger. 

Ticket price includes a tasting of each of the seven finalists’ green chile cheeseburgers, a ballot to cast your vote to be counted toward the “People’s Choice Award,” a souvenir glass, burger valet, one free beer, and ENTRY AN HOUR BEFORE general admission (12:30-1:30 pm).
