Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Resort & Casino is putting a new twist on fresh-made guacamoles and salsas with the launch of its Salsamole Station at Iguana Cafe.
The walk-up food bar experience allows guests to watch as custom blends of guacamole and salsa are created before their eyes by a trained Salsamole Master. After a quick chat with the chef about preferences for flavors, spices and heat, the Salsamole Master creates an entirely customized guacamole and salsa for each guest. With more than 20 ingredients to choose from ranging from flavorful chipotle chile to the blistering hot ghost chile, there are dozens of flavor combinations of guacamole and salsas that can be made to suit any guest’s tastes.
“Guacamole is one of our most popular items, so this is really a fun and interactive way for guests to try an almost endless number of variations of this favorite Mexican dip,” said Dan Daughtry, director of food and beverage at Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino. “Guests can also learn a tip or two about ingredients and preparation from our Salsamole Masters that they can use in their own kitchens at home.”
While preparing each order of custom guacamole and salsa, each Salsamole Master also shares interesting facts and tidbits about the ingredients being used. Located inside the resort’s Iguana Cafe restaurant, which features New Mexican and Mexican-inspired breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Salsamole Station is open from noon to 9:00 p.m. daily. Guests can also take advantage of freshly made guacamoles and salsas prepared “to go.”
Guests over the age of 21 can also enjoy pairing their custom guacamole and salsa with one of more than 20 varieties of freshly made margaritas served at the Iguana Cantina bar inside Iguana Café. Signature margaritas include Iggy Iguana’s Favorite Margarita featuring Sauza Blue Reposado Agave Tequila, Triple-Sec and fresh citrus; Prickly Pear Margarita featuring prickly pear cactus purée and the Buffalo Thunder Margarita made with Patron® “Buffalo Thunder” Reposado Tequila, a one-of-a-kind 100 percent agave tequila only found at Iguana Café.
